Radon is a radioactive gas that results from the decay of Uranium in the Earth’s crust. Since the entire Earth has crust—the entire Earth has Radon. Like all radiation, the closer to zero exposure the better and a radon test can determine if the content in your home is within limits set by the EPA.
Radon creeps into our homes through soil gas and water and can reach dangerous levels in our homes. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and a person dies from exposure once every 25 minutes.
At Donnelly Properties we use a Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) to measure the Radon content in your home. This means that Donnelly Technicians can provide your test results the same day the monitor is collected—no shipping to an outside laboratory is needed. This allows Donnelly to provide your report within 24 hours with or without an accompanying home inspection.
Current EPA estimates are that 1 in 15 homes has elevated Radon content, have your home tested.
